Middlesbrough Hand Trial To Talented Nigerian Winger Who Is On Charlton Athletic Radar
Published: April 17, 2019EFL Championship club Middlesbrough have handed a trial to promising Nigerian winger Samuel Folarin with a view to a transfer.
This isn't the first time the teenager has been linked with a transfer from his present club, non-leaguers Tooting & Mitcham United Football Club, as he trained with League One club Charlton Athletic last month.
Folarin will undergo a trial at Boro for two weeks, after which a decision will be made by the youth team coaches as to whether he will be offered a contract.
He started the season with Tooting & Mitcham's U18s before
earning a promotion to the U23s and got his first call-up to the first
team in February 2019, which shows the progress he has made over the
last few months.
Ahead of his trip to Middlesbrough, he was left out of The Terrors side that lost 2-1 to Ashford Town in the Bostik League on April 13.
Former Flying Eagles stars Sammy Ameobi, Kenneth Omeruo and John Obi Mikel have made first-team appearances for Boro.
