Three Reasons Why 'New Aubameyang', Okereke Should Move To Either England Or Spain Next Season
Published: April 22, 2019
Super Eagles invitee David Okereke — dubbed the 'new Aubameyang' — is currently in the book of Serie B outfit Spezia Calcio, and he's been an inspirational figure for the team.
Since he returned from his loan spell at Cosenza Last season, Okereke has been one of the deadliest strikers in the League.
He is directly involved in 19 goals (9 goals, 10 assists) so far this campaign but he should be moving to a more competitive league in the summer due to three cogent reasons.
Quest for Overall Improvement
Irrespective of his fine form for Spezia, Okereke needs to move elsewhere to improve his game by featuring against well-established and stronger defenders.
The 21-year-old is in that stage of his career where he needs to be in a very competitive league, he must find his way out of Italy's second division as soon as possible.
A move to either Premier League or La Liga will be a very good one as both leagues offer him the opportunity to face experienced defenders who will give him a run for his money.
Quest For Fame and Greater Achievements
Staying with Spezia for another season simply means Okereke won't stand any chance of featuring in one of Europe's top-class league next season, which isn't the best for his career.
He must find a club where many Nigerians, football fans and highly-rated scouts have the opportunity to see him play as that will boost his fame, and equally unveil his qualities to the world.
Quest To Feature Regularly For Super Eagles
Alex Iwobi made his international bow for Nigeria at the age of 19 mainly because he plays for English side Arsenal.
Samuel Chukwueze got his maiden call-up to Super Eagles camp when he was promoted to Villarreal's main squad.
