Mundo Deportivo: Barcelona Decide Against Signing Lille Hotshot Victor Osimhen
Published: January 21, 2020La Liga champions Barcelona will not sign Victor Osimhen in the January transfer window, according to reports.
The Lille striker is the top Nigerian player that has dominated the headlines in the winter transfer market, with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Sevilla, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Liverpool all credited with an interest.
New Barcelona manager Quique Setien is contemplating whether to sign a new striker this month as a replacement for the injured Luis Suarez and one of the names being bandied about is Osimhen.
However, Mundo Deportivo's Miguel Rico is reporting that the Blaugrana are not planning to sign the Super Eagles star as he needs a lot of time to adapt to the league.
Barcelona's priority is to sign a striker who is already playing in La Liga and their top candidate is Valencia's Rodrigo Moreno, who was a transfer target for the Camp Nou side last summer.
2015 U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner, Osimhen is beginning to make a name for himself in Europe and has contributed to 18 goals in 26 appearances this season.
