Four Nigeria-Eligible Teenagers Assigned Squad Numbers By Chelsea For 2020-21 Season
Published: September 08, 2020English Premier League club Chelsea have assigned squad numbers to four Nigeria-eligible teenagers ahead of the 2020-2021 season, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Chelsea's development squad will face Oxford United in the EFL Trophy at the Kassam Stadium in Oxfordshire on Tuesday evening, with Faustino Anjorin, Bryan Fiabema, Prince Adegoke and Kelechi Chibueze registered for the competition.
According to the official website of Chelsea, Anjorin,18, will be wearing the number 55 jersey this campaign, the same number he wore when he came off the bench to make his professional debut against Grimsby Town last September.
The EFL Trophy is one of Anjorin's favorite competitions having had a hand in seven goals (3 goals, 4 assists) from his six previous appearances.
Norway U17 international Fiabema, 17, has been given the number 64 shirt, while 2003-born goalkeepers Adegoke and Chibueze take the number 72 and 73 respectively.
Fiabema, Adegoke and Chibueze will be hoping to make their debuts for Chelsea in the EFL Trophy before the end of the new season.
The aforementioned teenagers will wear the same shirt numbers should they feature for the first team in 2020-2021.
