Porto Poised To Sign Chelsea Defender To Provide Competition For Super Eagles Invitee Sanusi
Published: October 05, 2020Liga NOS powerhouse Porto are on the verge of announcing the signing of Chelsea-owned defender Malang Sarr according to matching press reports in the English, French and Portuguese press.
Portuguese sports daily, A Bola says Porto are preparing to sign the France U21 international in view of Alex Telles' imminent move to Manchester United.
Sarr can operate at left back and the center of defence, and will provide competition for Super Eagles invitee Zaidu Sanusi if the deal goes through as expected.
Sanusi has not earned the trust of manager Sérgio Conceição since the season started, with the new signing from
CD Santa Clara yet to make his full debut for the Portuguese champions.

The 23-year-old left-back was signed as a like-for-like replacement for Telles but the fact that Porto have made a move for Sarr, who has more than 100 games under his belt in the Ligue 1, suggests that the Nigerian is not the preferred candidate to step into the shoes of the Manchester United-bound defender.
Sanusi was an unused substitute in Porto's 3-2 loss to Marítimo on Saturday.
