Exciting Teenager Of Nigerian Descent Added To Chelsea's Champions League Squad
Chelsea have updated their Champions League roster ahead of the opening day fixture against Europa League holders Sevilla at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, October 20, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

England youth international of Nigerian descent, Faustino Anjorin is available for selection against the La Liga side as his name has been added to the roster via the List B.

The exciting midfielder qualifies to be registered on the List B because he is an U21 player and has played non-stop at Chelsea for twelve years.

Anjorin will be aiming to follow in the footsteps of John Obi Mikel, Victor Moses and Celestine Babayaro who all made appearances for Chelsea in the Champions League.

Goalkeeper Prince Adegoke and fullback Derrick Abu are eligible to represent Chelsea in the Champions League as they have spent more than two years at the club and are both above 16 years but the duo have not been added to the List B, while Norwegian-born Bryan Fiabema, who was signed from Tromso in 2020, does not fulfill the requirements.

Having recovered from injury, Anjorin made his first appearance of the season in a Premier League 2 match against Derby County last weekend, scoring one minute after he came off the bench.

The 18-year-old has played two games for Chelsea's first team, against Grimsby Town in the EFL Cup and Everton in the Premier League last season.

If selected in the matchday 23 against Sevilla, he will wear the number 55 shirt.
