Confirmed : Most Expensive Signing In Saudi Pro League History Departs Al-Nassr For Free
Published: October 26, 2020Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa is searching for a new club after agreeing to terminate his contract with Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr before its expiration.
Through their social media channels, Al-Nassr have confirmed that Musa has departed the club but did not reveal the reason why the winger has been let go.
The Golden Boot Soccer Academy product joined Al-Nassr two years ago after starring at the 2018 World Cup, where he became the first Nigerian player to score a brace in two consecutive tournaments.
And if both parties had honored the agreement, he would have been a player of the nine-time Saudi Pro League champions until at least the end of the 2021-2022 season.
To this day, Musa is the most expensive signing in the history of the Saudi Pro League after Al-Nassr spent 16.5 million euros to bring him over from Leicester City.
In 57 outings for Al-Nassr across all competitions, the Nigeria international scored 11 goals with 14 assists to his name.
Musa turned out for European clubs VVV Venlo, CSKA Moscow and Leicester City before he was poached by Al-Nassr.
