'We're Actively Trying To Add To The Group' - Rangers Boss Responds To Transfer Links With Ofoborh
Published: January 22, 2021Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has responded to speculation linking the club with moves for Bournemouth pair Jack Simpson and Nnamdi Ofoborh.
It has been claimed that the Light Blues are working on signing the duo to pre-contracts before they join the club in the summer.
Gerrard was careful not to let the cat out of the bag with the former Liverpool captain telling reporters at Friday morning's press conference that he doesn't discuss players registered with other clubs, adding that Rangers are always seeking to improve the squad.
"I think Rangers are linked with players on a daily basis especially when the window is open so it is not news to me," Gerrard replied when asked to comment on Rangers link with Ofoborh and Simpson.
"What I won't do is be disrespectful to any individual player or to their clubs, there are two players that belong to different clubs.
"What I'll say is that we are making inroads, we are actively trying to improve the group not just now but also for the future as well.
"Yes we are actively trying to add to the group come the summer but I certainly won't be mentioning any names or elaborating on that."
