Super Eagles training session : Glasgow Rangers defender Bassey plays for team B; full line-ups
Published: October 05, 2021The Super Eagles stepped up their preparations for the upcoming World Cup qualifying match against Central African Republic with a training session at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Tuesday evening.
With the exception of Sparta Rotterdam glovesman Maduka Okoye, manager Gernot Rohr had at his disposal all the invited players, including late invitee Taiwo Awoniyi.
After the usual exercises and stretches, the Franco-German football tactician put
together two teams of eleven players each, one with bibs and the other
wearing jerseys.
Calvin Bassey is seemingly behind SC Paderborn's Jamilu Collins in Rohr's pecking order of left-backs as the Glasgow Rangers defender played for the Team B during the training match.
The Leicester City academy product would become cap-tied to Nigeria should he feature against Central African Republic on Thursday.
Joining Bassey in Team B, who wore blue bibs, were Daniel Akpeyi, Kevin Akpoguma, Kenneth Omeruo, Chidozie Awaziem, Innocent Bonke, Shehu Abdullahi, Samuel Kalu, Ahmed Musa and Taiwo Awoniyi.
Team A contained : Francis Uzoho, Ola Aina, William Troost-Ekong, Leon Balogun, Jamilu Collins, Frank Onyeka, Joe Aribo, Kelechi Iheanacho, Chidera Ejuke, Moses Simon and Victor Osimhen.
