Chelsea recall Nigerian goalkeeper from trial at Stoke City
Published: October 18, 2022Allnigeriiasoccer.com understands that Premier League giants Chelsea have recalled Nigerian goalkeeper Prince Adegoke from Stoke City, where he was undergoing trials with a view to a transfer to the Championship club.
Adegoke was not in the Potters squad that lost 4-1 to Nottingham Forest in a Premier League 2 Division 2 match staged at Impact Arena Stadium in Alfreton on Monday evening.
The 2019 Nigeria U17 invitee was forced to cut short his trial with Stoke City due to fitness issues, after complaining that he was feeling pains in his chest.
Adegoke returned to Cobham for further tests and the good news is that Chelsea medics confirmed that it was nothing serious after the checks were done.
The 18-year-old has been given the green light to resume full training with Chelsea's development squad.
He has yet to make his season debut for the age group after a decision was made to recall him from his loan spell at National League South club Welling United in August due to a lack of playing time.
Chelsea U21s face the first team of League Two club Leyton Orient in their final group game of the Papa Johns Trophy on Tuesday evening.
