Super Eagles to hold final training session at Estadio Jose Alvalade 1930 hours
Published: November 16, 2022
The Super Eagles are scheduled to train for the final time on Wednesday evening before their international friendly against Portugal.
On the eve of the meeting with the 2016 European champions, manager Jose Peseiro will put the players through their paces at the Estádio José Alvalade, venue of tomorrow's friendly.
Training is scheduled to start at 1830 hours, which is 1930 hours in Nigeria, with the first fifteen minutes open to the media.
Peseiro and a selected player will attend the pre-match press conference on Wednesday, starting from 2045 hours.
Nigeria will be missing the services of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen who pulled out of the squad due to a minor injury but have in their ranks Ademola Lookman (Atalanta) and Paul Onuachu (Racing Genk) who have scored 21 goals between them this season.
Although Nigeria did not qualify for the 2022 World Cup, the players are motivated to win the game against Portugal as they will be facing some of the best players in the world, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Rúben Dias, Bruno Fernandes and João Félix in contention to take to the pitch.
There will be a full house in Alvalade on Thursday as all the tickets for the game have been sold.
