Announcement imminent : Nigeria native joins Iwobi at Everton, subject to medical
Published: January 21, 2023Everton have reportedly won the race for the highly-coveted Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma.
The Toffees have beaten Ajax Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven and other Premier League clubs to land the signature of the cap-tied Netherlands international of Nigerian descent.
Danjuma was born in Nigeria's commercial capital Lagos, just like his new teammate Alex Iwobi.
According to Italian transfer market expert, Fabrizio Romano, Villarreal and Everton have reached an agreement for the transfer of Danjuma, and details are now sorted.
Romano added that the 25-year-old will undergo a medical at Everton on Saturday morning ahead of a potential announcement of his signing.
Danjuma will move to the Goodison Park outfit on loan for the remainder of the season and there's no option to buy in the agreement between the two teams.
He has experienced Premier League football before, making fourteen appearances for Bournemouth over the course of the 2019-2020 season.
It is envisaged that Danjuma will not compete for a starting spot with Iwobi considering the fact that the Super Eagles star has often been deployed as a central midfielder this season.
