Chelsea academy product Aina preparing to bid farewell to Torino
Published: March 06, 2023
Nigeria international Ola Aina could be leaving Serie A club Torino at the end of the season.
Italian sports daily Tuttosport says Torino could lose two players in the summer given that the contracts of Ola Aina and Djidji are expiring on June 30, 2023.
Aina was offered a new contract by the Maroons but talks have stalled, and the Chelsea Academy product is said to be keen on returning to the English Premier League in the summer.
The Super Eagles star is back in the Torino squad after spending several weeks on the sidelines due to a biceps femoris muscle injury.
Aina will definitely have admirers in the Premier League given that the former England youth teamer is a homegrown player and offers versatility.
The 26-year-old has played mostly as a right-back for the Nigerian national team, but he's also a reliable alternative in the left-back, right wingback and left wingback positions.
Aina has made 34 career appearances in the English Premier League comprising 31 in the colours of Fulham and three for boyhood club Chelsea.
