Burnley and Crystal Palace interested in Super Eagles star with 96 career PL appearances
Published: April 27, 2023
Premier League-bound Burnley and Crystal Palace reportedly have Atalanta striker Ademola Lookman on their radar ahead of the reopening of the transfer window.
90min.com claims that Lookman is a player of interest to the Clarets and Eagles this summer.
The Super Eagles star has some Premier League experience, having made 96 appearances combined for Everton, Fulham and Leicester City, and was on target on eleven occasions while producing six assists.
Although Lookman's performance levels have dropped in recent weeks, the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup winner with England is having his best season, statistically, since turning professional.
In 30 all-competition appearances for Atalanta, he has racked up 20 goal involvements (15 goals, 5 assists).
It is believed that Lookman will command a good transfer fee if he were to move to the Premier League as he is a homegrown player in addition to the fact that he is a key player for Nigeria's national team under Jose Peseiro.
The Charlton Athletic academy product has three years left on his contract with Atalanta, whom he joined from RB Leipzig last summer.
Crystal Palace have in their ranks two Super Eagles targets Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise, while Burnley loaned in Nathan Tella from Southampton in August 2022.
