Nigerian defender at crossroads over his future at Birmingham City despite new deal on the table
Published: May 18, 2023
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that versatile Nigerian defender Chris Ogor has a very important decision to make on his future at Championship club Birmingham City.
Ogor comes off contract at the end of the season but the Blues are keen to tie him down to a new deal.
Birmingham City have offered the former Liverpool youth teamer a one-year contract with an option for another twelve months but the player has yet to put pen to paper.
Financially, the deal is not bad for a 17-year-old who is still learning the trade given that he would be earning around the minimum wage in the United Kingdom if he accepts the offer.
At the moment, Ogor is double-minded over extending his contract because he wants to further his studies in the United States of America and hopes to play well at college and then get drafted into Major League Soccer.
The promising teenager is in talks with his advisers, including his parents, to find the best possible solution.
Standing at 6ft 1in, Ogor is quick, strong, has good passing ability, fairly decent in terms of technicality and aggressive in his play.
