Ex-Flying Eagles invitee Ejeheri reveals parent club Arsenal are happy with his progress
Published: June 13, 2023
Red-hot former Flying Eagles invitee Ovie Ejeheri has revealed that his parent club Arsenal are happy with his progress in Finland.
The Hale End Academy product joined Veikkausliiga outfit SJK Seinajoki on loan for the remainder of the 2022-2023 season in the January transfer window, his first move abroad since joining Arsenal in 2008.
Ejeheri has been in the best form of his career since the start of August, keeping twenty clean sheets while conceding 24 goals in forty appearances combined for Chelmsford City, where he spent the first half of the 2022-2023 season, and SJK Seinajoki.
The goalkeeper was named in the Veikkausliiga Team of the Month for May 2023 after his outstanding performances helped SJK pick up three clean sheets from a possible four in the division.
In an interview with the Finnish press, Ejeheri touched on the possibility of him remaining at SJK Seinajoki until the end of the Veikkausliiga season,
"I'm not sure yet. Now you just have to focus on playing, winning and getting clean sheets," Ejeheri told Mtv Uutiset.
"Arsenal keep in touch with me. They watch my every match there and have been happy with my progress so far. I just have to keep doing what I'm doing."
Ejeheri, who has cited Italy great Gianluigi Buffon as his role model, has ambitions to play in the Premier League and Champions League.
