2013 Fifa U17 World Cup Golden Ball winner yet to agree deal with Nottingham Forest

All is not as it seems regarding reports linking 2013 Fifa U17 World Cup Golden Ball winner, Kelechi Iheanacho with a transfer to two-time European champions Nottingham Forest this summer.

The Athletic UK's Paul Taylor and Daniel Taylor have insisted that the Leicester City striker is one of countless players offered to Forest, but suggestions a deal has been agreed are wide of the mark.

Iheanacho is desperate to leave Leicester City following their relegation to the Championship at the end of last season.

The Super Eagles striker would be an interesting signing for most mid-table Premier League clubs looking to bolster their attack for the forthcoming season considering the fact that he is a homegrown player having spent the formative years of his career at Manchester City.

On a personal level, Iheanacho was named Leicester City Men's Player of the Season on the back of his impressive performances in 2022-2023.

He directly participated in thirteen goals last term but his heroics were not enough to prevent the 2016 Premier League winners from getting relegated to the English second-tier.

Iheanacho arrived at the King Power Stadium in 2017 and has made 206 all-competition appearances, notching 55 goals and thirty-three assists.

Jose Mourinho's AS Roma have been linked with a summer move for the former Golden Eaglets sensation.
