Through their official website, Premier League giants Chelsea have announced that versatile defender Levi Colwill has committed his future to the club.
The 20-year-old has put pen to paper on a six-year contract, with an option for a further year, for a total of seven years.
Colwill's new contract has presumably ended speculation over his his future at Stamford Bridge, with reports previously linking him with moves to Brighton & Hove and Liverpool.
A European U21 champion with England this summer, Colwill plays mostly at centre-back and can also be deployed at wingback and left-back.
The Southampton-born player has been registered with Chelsea since the U9 age group, rising through the youth team ranks to sign his first professional contract in February 2020.
He enjoyed a loan spell at Huddersfield Town in the 2021-2022 campaign and spent the whole of last season at Brighton & Hove, totaling 54 appearances for both clubs.
Colwill helped Chelsea to win the Premier League Summer Series, featuring in matches against Brighton and Fulham.
