Nottingham Forest have made a verbal offer to sign French midfielder Youssouf Fofana despite links with Wilfred Ndidi.
According to The Athletic (subscription required), Forest have proposed to pay 29.8 million pounds which is equal to 35 million euros to Monaco for the services of the midfielder.
They are also in talks with his representatives as they seek to beat other clubs to his signature.
Nottingham Forest want to strengthen their central midfield postition before the close of the transfer window.
They have been linked with Ndidi, Ivorian Ibrahim Sangare, and United States of America international Tyler Adams.
The Super Eagles midfielder could leave Leicester City this summer after the club got relegated to the Championship and is running into the final 12 months of his contract
It remains to be seen whether a move to Steve Cooper's side is still practicable, especially with their pursuit of Fofana.
He has also been linked with Turkish outfit Fenerbahce who sees him as an alternative target to Tottenham's midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
