Official: Charlton Athletic confirm signing of Chelsea youth product Adegoke
Published: August 21, 2023
With a statement on their official website, Charlton Athletic have confirmed the signing of Chelsea youth team product Prince Adegoke.
The Addicks revealed that the 2019 Golden Eaglets invitee will initially begin his Charlton Athletic career with their development squad, while also providing cover for Dean Holden's squad.
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Adegoke is set to be Charlton Athletic's third choice goalkeeper for the 2023-2024 campaign.
Charlton's first team manager Dean Holden was in attendance at the official signing ceremony held last Thursday.
The 19-year-old goalkeeper has put-pen-to-paper on a one-year contract, with a club option of an additional year, following a successful trial period.
Adegoke was in the Chelsea squad that won the U18 Premier League Cup in 2021-2022 and had a brief loan spell at Welling United at the start of the 2022-2023 season.
During his time at Stamford Bridge, he trained with Chelsea's first team goalkeeping group but left the club without making his professional debut.
Adegoke made his competitive debut for Charlton Athletic's development squad in a 2-2 draw with Wigan Athletic in a Professional Development League game staged at the Valley on Monday afternoon.
