Official: Former Nigeria U23 international winger departs FC Sheriff for Gostivar
Published: August 26, 2023Through official channels, Macedonian First League club KF Gostivari have announced the signing of former Nigeria U23 international Iyayi Atiemwen.
The length and financial terms of the contract have not been disclosed by KF Gostivari.
A winger by trade, Atiemwen wore the colours of Sheriff Tiraspol during the 2022-2023 season, and is credited with four goals and three assists in 27 appearances for the Moldovan giants.
The 27-year-old also counts Kayseri Erciyesspor, Çaykur Rizespor, Şanlıurfaspor, Manisaspor. Gorica and Dinamo Zagreb among his previous clubs.
Atiemwen enjoyed loan spells at Lokomotiva, Omonia Nicosia and Gorica as a Dinamo Zagreb player.
He has some experience in European football club competitions with 30 appearances under his belt consisting of 15 in the Europa League, 6 in the Europa Conference League, 1 in the Champions League, 5 in Europa League qualifying and 3 in Champions League qualifying.
Overall, Atiemwen has mustered 38 goals and 17 assists in 189 games combined for his European clubs.
He played for Nigerian top-flight club Bendel Insurance prior to his move to Europe in 2016.
