'He looks like Robben' - 1982 World Cup winner likens Chukwueze to former Real Madrid and Chelsea dazzler
Published: October 03, 2023
1982 World Cup-winning goalkeeper with Italy's national team, Giovanni Galli has likened Samuel Chukwueze to former Real Madrid and Chelsea star Arjen Robben.
The AC Milan right-winger is known for his swift dribbling, cutting inside, crossing and shooting with his left foot whenever he is in form.
The same can be said of Robben who tore defences apart with his left foot during his playing days in the Netherlands, England, Spain and Germany.
The comparison between both should not also come as a surprise as Chukwueze had once revealed being an admirer of the retired Netherlands international.
Galli has revealed how the former Villarreal winger caught his attention in the Spanish La Liga.
"It's funny. So far I've seen both Reijnders and Pulisic well, but the real crack could be Chukwueze: in La Liga he was devastating, he looks like Robben." Galli told Gazzetta dello sport via ilmilanista.
While there are similarities between Chukwueze and Robben, the former still has to improve his game to become a world-beater like the latter was in his playing days.
The Nigerian winger at the moment is struggling to break into the AC Milan starting XI, having started just two games so far this season for Stefano Pioli's side.
