'Baller' - Super Eagles striker Moffi pays tribute to Hazard after Chelsea legend announces retirement

Super Eagles forward Terem Moffi has reacted to the retirement of Chelsea legend Eden Hazard.

Hazard announced his retirement on Tuesday on his social media account which marked an end to his 16-year career as a footballer.

The former Belgium skipper began his senior career with French Ligue 1 outfit Lille before moving to Chelsea in 2012 where he earned his world-class status and established himself as one of the best players to grace the English Premier League.

He made 352 appearances for the two-time European champions, notching 110 goals and also won two Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League during his time at Stamford Bridge.

The 32-year-old left for Real Madrid in 2019 but failed to replicate his Chelsea heroics with the Los Blancos as he struggled for form and injuries, making 76 appearances across all competitions and scoring 7 goals.

He terminated his contact with the Spanish giants in June 2023 after a mutual agreement was reached between him and the club to do so.

Having failed to get a club since leaving Real Madrid, he has decided to call  time on his professional football career.

Moffi, while reacting to the retirement of the Chelsea legend, wrote on his X account: "Baller," accompanied by a clapping and blue heart emoji.

Before his retirement, Hazard also featured for Belgium on 126 occasions, mustering 33 goals and thirty-six assists.
