Whoscored reveals the highest-rated Nigerian player Europe's top five leagues
Published: October 12, 2023Football statistics website Whoscored.com has revealed the highest-rated Nigerian player in Europe's top five leagues consisting of the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1.
Bayer Leverkusen star Victor Boniface has the honour of being the top rated Nigerian for players who have logged at least 400 minutes.
The one-cap Nigeria international has averaged 8.26 per game, the highest among Nigerian players in England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France.
Boniface has mustered nine goal involvements ( 7 goals, 2 assists) in the Bundesliga since the start of the season and the highlight of his performance was against Darmstadt 98 at the BayArena, where he registered 2 goals and an assist in a 5-1 win.
The 22-year-old has racked up 45 shots at goal, more than any other player in the German top flight this season.
Boniface won both the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month and Player of the Month awards for August and has been nominated for the two accolades again on the back of his outstanding performances in September.
The Nigerian is battling Serhou Guirassy, Alejandro Grimaldo, Chris Führich, Harry Kane and Leroy Sané for the Bundesliga Player of the Month for September.
The former Royale Union Saint-Gilloise striker is currently on international duty with the Super Eagles ahead of their upcoming games against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.
