After its latest market update, celebrated statistics and transfer market website Transfermarkt has revealed Africa's most valuable XI.

West Ham United account for three of the players named in the most valuable XI, followed by Napoli with two, while Manchester United, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Wolverhampton Wanderers, AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen have contributed one player each.

The eleven players have a combined market value of €533 million with Super Eagles centre-forward Victor Osimhen the most expensive African player at €120m.

In goal is Cameroon international André Onana who switched to Manchester United from Inter Milan in the summer transfer window.

The four-man defence contains Achraf Hakimi (Morocco), Edmond Tapsoba (Burkina Faso), Nayef Aguerd (Morocco) and Rayan Aït-Nouri (Algeria).

Moving into the middle of the pack, Frank Anguissa (Cameroon) and Ismaël Bennacer (Algeria) are the holding midfielders, with Mohamed Salah (Egypt), Mohammed Kudus (Ghana) and Saïd Benrahma (Algeria) playing in more advanced positions.

Leading the attack is the only Nigerian player named in the best XI, Victor Osimhen who is the joint-fifth most valuable player in the world, behind Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior.

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is also rated at €120 million, while another player with a Nigerian background, Jamal Musiala is the seventh most expensive player in the world at €110 million.
