Napoli interested in Hatayspor, ex-Manchester City midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru
Published: November 03, 2023According to Italian outlet CalcioNews24, Manchester City academy product Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has emerged as a transfer target for Italian Serie A champions Napoli ahead of the reopening of the transfer window.
The Parthenopeans are monitoring Fenerbahce star Sebastian Szymanski and Hatayspor midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru with a view to making bids for both players in the January transfer window.
Napoli have signed players from the Super Lig in recent seasons, bringing in Elif Elmas and Kim Min-Jae, and the dup helped them win the Serie A title for the first time in 33 years in 2022-2023.
Dele-Bashiru has become one of the best players in the Turkey after joining Hatayspor as a free agent at the beginning of the season and his brilliant performances earned him a first-ever call-up to the Super Eagles for their October internationals against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.
The one-cap Nigeria international has directly participated in seven goals (4 goals, 3 assists) from ten appearances in the Turkish top flight.
It remains to be seen whether Hatayspor will agree to part ways with Dele-Bashiru in January with two and a half years left on his contract.
Napoli's interest in Dele-Bashiru comes at a time when his international teammate Victor Osimhen is being linked with a departure from the Diego Maradona Stadium.
Dele-Bashiru was on the books of Manchester City for eleven years, and played for their U18 and U21 teams, before joining Sheffield Wednesday, from where he moved to Hatayspor.
