Romano confirms Durosinmi will be Eintracht Frankfurt's second signing in January after Man Utd midfielder
Published: December 27, 2023
Viktoria Plzeň's Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi is reportedly on the verge of leaving the Czech Fortuna League for the German Bundesliga.
Although the buying and selling club have not confirmed the transfer, celebrated transfer market reporter Fabrizio Romano is sure that Eintracht Frankfurt have completed the deal for Rafiu Durosinmi to join the club for €9m from Viktoria Plzeň.
What now remains for the deal to be finalized is a medical examination, which has been booked for Thursday.
The Nigerian forward is set to become the second player signed by Eintracht Frankfurt in the January transfer window, after Netherlands international midfielder Donny van de Beek who is out of favour at Manchester United.
At a fee of nine million euros, Durosinmi will become one of the top ten players sold by a Czech club.
The transfer record is currently held by Tomas Soucek who joined West Ham United from Slavia Prague in exchange for €16.2m in July 2020.
Durosinmi was having a breakthrough season at Viktoria Plzeň before suffering a knee injury, registering six goals and six assists in eleven matches in the Fortuna Liga.
The 20-year-old also put himself in the shop window with a string of good performances in the qualifying rounds of the Europa Conference League, where he scored three goals in six games.
