'It was like watching Zaha' - Pundit urges Brentford fans to keep an eye on 'phenomenal talent' Olise
Published: December 29, 2023
South London Press's Edmund Brack has urged Brentford fans to keep an eye on 2021 Super Eagles invitee Michael Olise on Saturday afternoon when the Bees face off with Crystal Palace in a Premier League game at Selhurst Park.
Having missed the first eleven games of the season due to a hamstring injury he suffered while on international duty with France at the 2023 U21 Euro, Olise is back to his best with four goal involvements in his last seven games in the Premier League.
Olise netted a late equalizer against Manchester City and opened the scoring against his former employers Chelsea in his most recent outing in the top-flight.
At the halfway stage of the season, Roy Hodgson's side are fifteenth in the table but are three points above the drop zone, putting the future of the experienced English tactician at risk.
Brack has underlined that Olise's form will be crucial for the Eagles as they look to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
Asked to reveal the player Brentford fans should keep an eye on, Brack told the official website of Brentford: "Michael Olise. I think I have said him every time you have asked me this question! He has stepped up a level this season - if that is even possible.
"It feels like he is taking Premier League games by the scruff of the neck at the moment and that goal against Luton was breathtaking - it was like watching Zaha.
"He is a phenomenal talent, destined for greater things than Crystal Palace. Enjoy him while he is still playing here is my message."
Olise has made six career appearances against Brentford and has two assists to his name.
