Ex-Golden Eaglets invitee linked with departure from Crystal Palace before close of January window
Published: January 10, 2024
Ex-Golden Eaglets invitee Malcolm Ebiowei is set to leave Crystal Palace before the end of the January transfer window.
According to Football Insider, the talented forward will leave Selhurst Park this month on a loan deal with several English Football League sides interested in signing him.
Despite being named among the substitutes in 11 games across all competition for Crystal Palace this season, he is yet to play a single minute for Roy Hodgson's side.
With the London-based club struggling, it is always going to be difficult for the Anglo-Nigerian forward to taste first-team football.
Ebiowei has only played with the development side in the Premier League 2, EFL Trophy and Premier League International Cup this season.
With the prospect of getting game time with the first team now dim, the 20-year-old has decided to go out on loan for the rest of the season.
This won't be the first team he would be leaving the club as he had previously spent a loan spell with Hull City in the Championship, featuring in 12 games without any goal involvement.
He joined Crystal Palace in the summer of 2022 and made his debut in the Eagles' 2-0 loss to Arsenal on matchday one of the Premier League last season.
