Newcastle United make an approach to sign Super Eagles-eligible striker

According to The Telegraph, Newcastle have enquired about the availability of Super Eagles-eligible striker Dominic Solanke but have been told he is not available for sale.

The Magpies want to bolster their striking force with the signing of the central forward this window but will have to wait until the summer to grab his signature.

The 26-year-old is the most in-form forward in the  Premier League right now and has helped Andoni Iraola's Cherries side escape from their early season slump which saw them languish in the relegation zone.

They have lost just one of their last seven Premier League games with the Anglo-Nigerian striker scoring 8 goals within that time.

Solanke has also ignited interest from Arsenal and Chelsea but looks set to stay at the Vitality Stadium till the summer.

He is contracted to Bournemouth until the summer of 2027 which could be beneficial to the Cherries as clubs could be lining up for him next summer if he continues with this prolific form.

He ranks third on the Premier League scoring chart at the moment with 12 goals.
