Everton and Luton Town interested in signing Nigerian striker on loan ahead of deadline day

Everton and Luton Town are interested in signing Anglo-Nigerian forward Chuba Akpom on a loan deal before the winter transfer window closes on Thursday.
According to TEAMtalk, the two Premier League sides want to sign the former Middlesbrough forward to help salvage their Premier League status.
Everton are one point adrift of a place in the relegation zone following a 10-point reduction for breaching the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules.
The Toffees are also struggling in front of goal with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Arnaut Danjuma failing to deliver the goods, scoring 24 goals, the fourth lowest in the division.
Luton on the other hand sit in 18th position in the table and just like Everton have notched just 24 goals in the league this season.
Both sides could benefit from the signing of Akpom if he can replicate his form for Middlesbrough in the Championship last season.
After a slow start to life at Ajax, the Hale End product is beginning to find his feet in recent months and has now netted 9 goals in twenty appearances.
It has been claimed that the 28-year-old will be open to a switch to the Premier League but it remains to be seen whether Ajax will be willing to sanction a deal for him to move back to England.
