2023 Flying Eagles invitee Ebenezer Akinsanmiro made his Serie A debut for Inter Milan as they registered a 4-0 win over Lecce on Sunday.
The talented midfielder received his eighth call-up to the first team in the match against the Giallorossi, making his senior debut as he was substituted in by manager Simone Inzaghi in the 76th minute, taking the place of Davide Frattesi.
Wearing the number 41 at the back of his jersey, Akinsanmiro touched the ball thirteen times while registering one key pass.
The Remo Stars product was temporarily promoted to Inter Milan's first team following a string of impressive performances for the Primavera squad.
In nineteen outings for the youth team in the Primavera 1, the 19-year-old has registered seven goal involvements (5 goals, 2 assists) for table-topping Inter Milan.
He logged 67 minutes for the youth team on Saturday before flying with the first team to Lecce.
Described as a dynamic midfielder with tactical intelligence, pace and physicality, Akinsanmiro became the ninth Nigerian player to represent Inter Milan when he stepped out onto the Ettore Giardiniero Stadium turf.
He followed in the footsteps of Nwankwo Kanu, Taribo West, Obafemi Martins, Isah Eliakwu, Victor Obinna, Obiora Nwankwo, Joel Obi and Victor Moses who all played at least one official match for Inter Milan.
Goals from Lautaro Martínez (2), Davide Frattesi and Stefan de Vrij earned the Nerazzurri a deserved three points.
