Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leeds United interested in Super Eagles right-back
Published: March 05, 2024
Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers have set sights on signing Super Eagles and Fenerbahçe right-back Bright Osayi-Samuel in the summer transfer window.
According to NTVSpor, the two Premier League sides are interested in the services of the 26-year-old but will face competition from Leeds United who have been his long-term admirers.
In Daniel Muñoz, Joel Ward, and Nathaniel Clyne, Crystal Palace have three players that can play at right-back but none is a stand-out in the position which explains their interest in the Nigerian defender.
In contrast, the Wolves have Nelson Semedo as the only natural right-back in the club and Osayi-Samuel will compete with the former for a place in the starting lineup if he moves to the Molineux Stadium.
The Nigeria international is no stranger to English football as he had previously played for Blackpool and Queens Park Rangers but is yet to feature in the Premier League.
Crystal Palace and Wolves will be encouraged by the fact that the fullback had also stated that he would love to play in the Premier League but the two clubs should be ready to pay a sizable fee for his signature as he is under contract with Fenerbahçe till 2025.
Osayi-Samuel has directly participated in seven goals (3 goals, 4 assists) this term - his joint best in a single season since joining Fenerbahçe from Queens Park Rangers in January 2021.
