Tanimu showcased his defensive prowess before being substituted in the 79th minute due to injury, making way for Ademola Lookman.
In a video shared on X , Tanimu reflected on his debut experience, emphasizing his determination to perform to the best of his abilities.
He expressed his mindset going into the game, stating, "My mind was just focused on playing my game and ensuring no attacker could get past me."
Following the match, Tanimu revealed the words of encouragement he received from coach Finidi George, highlighting the significance of his debut in the national team setup.
"He came to me and offered some encouraging words, acknowledging the challenge of representing Nigeria for the first time at the senior level.
"He urged me to continue playing my game and strive for improvement," Tanimu recounted.
Moreover, Tanimu shared a conversation he had with experienced midfielder Alex Iwobi after making his debut, expressing admiration for Iwobi's playing style.
