Super Eagles midfielder Onyeka fit to face Man Utd after missing friendly against Mali

Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told Frank Onyeka is not in danger of missing Brentford's Premier League clash against Manchester United at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday despite ongoing speculation about his fitness.
The central midfielder and another English-based player Calvin Bassey were excused from the Nigeria squad after the international friendly against Ghana.
Bassey flew back to London for additional evaluation of an injury he sustained, whereas Onyeka's return to the English capital was unrelated to any injury.
The FC Ebedei product returned to England for personal reasons, related to his paperwork.
His absence against Mali's Les Aigles was felt as Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi struggled to form an effective partnership with Club Brugge's Raphael Onyedika, who made just his third start for the senior national team.
Onyeka had started eight consecutive matches for the Super Eagles before that streak ended on Tuesday night in the 2-0 defeat to the Malians.
The former Midtjylland man has forced his way into Brentford's starting lineup after showcasing his qualities in midfield at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, having started the club's last five Premier League games before the international break.
Onyeka played the last twenty minutes of Brentford's 2-1 loss to Manchester United earlier in the season.
