Arsenal icon Wilshere hails 5-goal hero Obi-Martin, reveals one area of his game he has improved the most

Arsenal icon Jack Wilshere has hailed Denmark U17 international of Nigerian descent Chidozie Obi-Martin for his five-goal display during the Gunners 8-1 win over West Ham United in the U18 Premier League on Saturday, April 13.

Obi-Martin has been in remarkable goalscoring form in recent weeks, notching sixteen goals in his last five games to take his tally to twenty in the division in the ongoing season.

The Danish-Nigerian wonderkid has equaled Rhys Murphy's record for most goals scored by a schoolboy which the latter set in the 2006-2007 season, and is on course to equal Folarin Balogun' record for most goals scored (25) for the U18s in a single season.

Wilshere noted that the area of Obi-Martin's game that he has shown improvement the most is his pressing.

The ex-Arsenal midfielder also emphasized that the center forward has made strides in various aspects of his game and praised him for his impressive form in recent weeks.

"He has improved so much, his hold-up play, back to goal, the way he links, the way he presses as well. He wasn't too keen on pressing but now he is. He's got energy, good pressing, wins the ball back," Wilshere told Arsenal's official website.

"Credit to him. To score five goals. It's not easy to score goals, no matter how good you are as a player.

"The hardest part is actually putting the ball in the net and continuously doing it over the last four, five games, he has been exceptional for us."

Despite speculation linking him with possible moves to European giants Borussia Dortmund and Ajax Amsterdam, Obi-Martin has already signed a pre-scholarship with Arsenal ahead of next season.
