Luton Town in talks with 2024 Super Eagles invitee over new contract
Published: May 24, 2024
Through their official website, Luton Town have announced their retained and released list following the conclusion of the 2023-2024 season.
The Hatters are back in the Championship after suffering relegation on the final day of the Premier League season.
Luton Town are keen on retaining the services of 2024 Super Eagles invitee Gabriel Osho and have opened talks with the player over a contract extension.
The highly-rated central defender joined Luton Town in November 2020 after spending a decade at Reading.
Osho made twenty-one appearances in the Premier League in the recently concluded season and was on target against Arsenal and Newcastle United.
His form did not go unnoticed and in March 2024 he received his first call-up to the Nigeria national team for a pair of international friendlies against Ghana and Mali, but pulled out of the squad due to a knee injury he suffered against Crystal Palace.
Luton Town have confirmed that Lagos-born winger Fred Onyedinma has not been offered a new contract and will be departing Kenilworth Road upon the expiry of his contract at the end of next month.
Onyedinma appeared in 60 matches during his three-year association with Luton Town, and was involved in ten goals.
Talented schoolboy Christian Chigozie, who was named in the matchday squads for the trip to Arsenal and Manchester City, has been offered a scholarship deal ahead of the 2024-2025 season.
