Confirmed: Scottish club Motherwell release four players, including Nigerian forward
Published: June 16, 2025
With a statement on the official website, Scottish Premiership club Motherwell have announced the departure of four players, including Nigerian forward Moses Ebiye.
Ebiye will not be returning to Motherwell following the expiry of his contract on June 30, alongside Harry Paton, Steve Seddon and Davor Zdravkovski.
He joined Motherwell in March 2024 and quickly endeared himself to fans, netting a dramatic last-minute winner against Dundee on his debut.
The 28-year-old also found the net against St. Johnstone (2), Aberdeen, Ross County, Clyde FC and Kilmarnock FC, taking his tally to seven goals in 39 all-competition appearances for Motherwell.
Ebiye began his career at Akwa United before moving to Norway, where he played for Lillestrøm, HamKam, Tromsø, and Aalesund, scoring a total of 19 goals in the Norwegian top flight.
During his time in Norway, he tallied 12 goals in 42 appearances in the OBOS League, while producing seven assists.
Ebiye scored Motherwel'’s final goal of the 2024–25 season, coming off the bench to net the equaliser in a 1–1 draw against Ross County on May 18.
Motherwell expressed their gratitude to Moses for his contributions and extended best wishes for his future endeavours.
