'Man Utd not part of the conversation' – Fabrizio Romano reveals Osimhen's most likely destination

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shut down speculation linking Manchester United with a sensational move for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, revealing that Turkish giants Galatasaray are now firmly in pole position to secure his signature.

Osimhen, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, enjoyed a prolific spell in Turkey, reigniting his form and attracting interest from a host of European and Middle Eastern clubs, including Manchester United and Saudi Arabian outfit Al Hilal.

However, in a recent update on his YouTube channel, Romano poured cold water on reports that United are attempting to hijack Galatasaray’s efforts to sign the Super Eagles forward on a permanent deal.

"Guys let me clarify reports, stories you sent me on social media about Manchester United maybe hijacking the deal from Galatasaray for Victor Osimhem," Romano stated, emphasizing that Manchester United are not part of the ongoing negotiations.

"From what I am told, this is not true, Osimhen is getting closer to joining Galatasaray.

According to Romano, Galatasaray have already agreed personal terms with Osimhen, who is expected to earn a staggering €16 million net salary per season.

He further detailed how the Istanbul club plans to meet Osimhen’s €75 million release clause.

"Galatasaray will pay €40 million in fixed part and €35 million in installments to be paid in a few years.

"Now, Napoli have to give the final approval to this deal with bank guarantees.

"Galatasaray are getting closer and are always confident to sign Osimhen. New contacts to take place in the new week but for sure, Galatasaray remain the favourite to sign Victor Osimhen," he explained.

Romano also pointed out the financial gap between the two clubs’ offers, highlighting that Manchester United are unwilling to meet Osimhen’s wage demands.

"Manchester are not part of this story, not part of the conversation. Also because Galatasaray are going to give Osimhen an important salary, €16 million euro net per season.

"Manchester United were not going to be at the table for those numbers in terms of salary.”

As the 2025/2026 campaign approaches, Galatasaray look set to complete one of the biggest deals in their history, bringing Osimhen back to Istanbul in a blockbuster move that underlines their ambitions both domestically and in Europe.

If finalized, the move would end months of speculation over Osimhen’s future and hand Galatasaray a major boost in their quest for domestic dominance and Champions League impact.
