After Eletu and Athekame, AC Milan announce outgoing transfer of another Nigerian youngster

Through their official website, Italian Serie A giants AC Milan have announced the departure of a third player of Nigerian descent in the space of four days, with Germany U20 international David Odogu completing a loan move to French club Toulouse.

Odogu follows in the footsteps of Victor Eletu and Zachary Athekame, with the midfielder completing a permanent transfer to Pescara Calcio and the right-back joining Olympique Lyonnais on a season-long loan.

He began his football journey with Steglitzer SC Südwest before moving to the Union Berlin academy, from where he joined VfL Wolfsburg in 2020.

His impressive progress at Wolfsburg was rewarded in December 2022 when he signed his first professional contract with the club.

AC Milan secured the services of the German-Nigerian starlet in the summer of 2025.

The 20-year-old gained valuable experience around the Rossoneri's senior squad during the 2025-26 season, making a total of 36 matchday squads and featuring in three matches, including his Serie A and Coppa Italia debuts.

Odogu was part of the Germany squad that won the 2023 European U17 Championship and Fifa U17 World Cup.

For the 2026-27 season, he will wear the number 19 shirt at Toulouse.
