Danish Superliga giants FC Copenhagen have made a €2.5 million (approximately N3.9 billion) bid, plus add-ons, for Kongsvinger IL winger Daniel Job, according to transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri.
The Norwegian First Division club are holding out for €4 million for the highly-rated attacker, meaning there remains a significant gap between the two clubs' valuations.
Job, who has impressed with his performances for Kongsvinger, is reportedly keen on making the move to Denmark.
This season, the 21-year-old has tallied seven goals and seven assists in 19 all-competition appearances for Kongsvinger IL.
Personal terms are not expected to be a stumbling block should the two clubs reach an agreement over the transfer fee.
Copenhagen's opening offer has therefore set the stage for further negotiations, with talks between the parties ongoing.
The Danish club will now have to decide whether to improve their proposal or wait for Kongsvinger to lower their asking price as they look to fend off competition for the winger.
A product of Future Pro, Job turned out for Sarpsborg 08 and Egersund before his move to Kongsvinger IL in the winter transfer market.
