Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsí has admitted that the La Liga giants must be prepared for Victor Osimhen's attacking threat when both clubs meet in the UEFA Champions League at Rams Park on Tuesday evening.
Aged 19, the 2026 World Cup winner previously faced Osimhen in the Champions League during the 2023-2024 season when the Nigerian striker failed to find the net as Barcelona secured a 3-1 victory over Napoli.
The Nigeria international heads into Tuesday's encounter in impressive form, having scored or provided an assist in each of his first five appearances in the Turkish Süper Lig this season.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Cubarsí praised Osimhen’s quality, recalling their previous meeting and acknowledging the attacking threat Barcelona expect to face.
"In my first match a few years ago, I played against Victor Osimhen. We expect to face an opponent who knows what he wants to do in attack," he told reporters.
Despite recognising Osimhen's quality, Cubarsí insisted that Barcelona would do everything possible to prevent the striker from causing problems during the match.
"It will be clear that they are playing at home. Osimhen is one of the best forwards in the world.
"We will do our best to ensure he doesn't cause us any trouble tomorrow night."
Osimhen is expected to be included in Galatasaray's starting lineup for their meeting with Barcelona after making his comeback against Kasimpasa last Friday without any apparent injury problems.
