Official: Youngest-ever Nigerian to represent Bayern departs German champions for Club Brugge

With a statement on their official website, Belgian giants Club Brugge have announced the signing of Germany U17 international Wisdom Mike from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

At 17 years and two days, Mike became the youngest-ever player of Nigerian descent to make an official appearance for Bayern when he made his senior debut against Felix Agu’s Werder Bremen in a Bundesliga clash on September 26, 2025.

In doing so, he broke the record previously held by Germany international Jamal Musiala, who made his Bayern debut at 17 years and 115 days.

Club Brugge, who noted that Mike has Nigerian roots, confirmed that the talented winger has signed a contract until 2029.

Before joining Bayern Munich in 2022, Mike represented the youth teams of MSV Duisburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

He leaves Bayern after making five first-team appearances, including four in the Bundesliga and one in the UEFA Champions League.

On the international stage, Mike was part of Germany’s squad for the 2025 U17 World Cup, where he scored in back-to-back group-stage matches against North Korea and El Salvador.

For the 2026-27 season, he will wear the number 27 shirt at Club Brugge.
