Official : Sidney Sam Reaches Four - Year Deal With Schalke 04
Published: January 08, 2014
Per a statement on its official website, Bundesliga club Schalke 04 has announced that it has reached an agreement with rivals Bayer Leverkusen over the transfer of Germany international Sidney Sam, 25.
The four - year contract will start running with effect from July 1, 2014, meaning he will complete this season at Bayer Leverkusen before heading to the Royal Blues.
“Sidney Sam has shown how much impetus he can offer in attack, and not just with his impressive performances this season.
“He’s extremely versatile, very ambitious and wants to achieve big things with Schalke. We’re delighted he’s opted for Royal Blue,” general manager Horst Heldt told the official website, schalke04.de.
If not for a thigh injury that curtailed his progress this season, Sam might have added to his 7 goals (5 assists) for Bayer Leverkusen in the German topflight.
