Ranti Martins, one of the highest earners in the I - League, has said that he departed United SC due to the dwindling margins the club were experiencing.
Speaking to allnigeriasoccer.com, Martins said :“I can confirm I have signed a two - year contract with East Bengal. I left United SC because they were in financial crisis.
“The Nigerians that played for East Bengal last season (Uga Opara and Chidi Edeh) did not contribute in my choice to join this team. They wanted me so badly and that’s why I signed.
