Exclusive: Samson Nwabueze Move To Kecskemeti TE Hits Brick Wall
Published: May 02, 2014
CSM Râmnicu Vâlcea fullback Samson Nwabueze’s dream of plying his trade for a topflight team in Europe has not materialized.
In the winter transfer market, Hungarian NB1 campaigners Kecskeméti TE had explored the possibility of poaching him from promotion hopefuls CSM Râmnicu Vâlcea but the hierarchy at the Romanian side turned down their proposal.
“I had some offers from some big clubs in Romania and Kecskeméti TE, a first division club in Hungary, but they refused to let me go.
“The reason why I was not permitted to leave was because my club are targeting promotion to the Liga 1, and they also want to retain my services,” Samson Nwabueze, a product of CASA Academy Lagos, said to allnigeriasoccer.com.
If the leadership of CSM Râmnicu Vâlcea had sanctioned his departure from the Municipal, the 26 - year - old defender would have signed a two - year contract with the Hungarian team.
The former IK Sirius and Jönköping Södra trialist is under contract with CSM Râmnicu Vâlcea until June 30, 2014.
He has worn the jerseys of FC tiinţa Bacu, CSMS Iai, Callatis Mangalia and FC Damila in the past.
