Leon Balogun has bid farewell to SV Darmstadt 98 despite being offered a new contract by the newly promoted Bundesliga side.
The central defender cum right back, who turns 27 on June 28, was searching for a new team for several months before Darmstadt took a gamble by offering him a deal until the end of the 2014 - 2015 campaign.
“Leon has informed me that he is looking for a new challenge,” coach Schuster told Kicker.
“He has thanked and informed us that he will not sign a new contract in Darmstadt.”
