Lille Goalie Vincent Enyeama In Hot Water Over Kaduna Comments
Published: June 20, 2015
Nigeria’s record cap holder Vincent Enyeama has landed in trouble over comments he made days leading up to the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad.
The Lille shot - stopper said he was not happy with the choice of Kaduna as the match venue due to safety of players and officials.
The Nigeria Federation has distanced itself from the utterances of the Super Eagles skipper , and invited him to appear before a Disciplinary Committee on June 25 in Abuja.
The situation got out of hand and is now a topic for public discuss because the Nigerian FA had issued him a query, only for him to fail to reply after 48 hours.
NFF Secretary General, Mohammed Sanusi, has warned that acts of indiscipline by the players and backroom staff will no longer be tolerated.
Away from that episode, Vincent Enyeama broke Joseph Yobo’s appearance record when he stepped out unto the Ahmadu Bello Stadium turf around this time last weekend.
It is assumed that the Super Eagles skipper will be fined and told to issue a public apology or worst case scenario banished from the national team if does not put a good defense in three days time.
