Sunday Oliseh Says He Is Not Under Pressure From NFF To Win
Published: September 04, 2015
It is now 51 days since the Nigeria Football Federation unveiled Sunday Oliseh as the coach of the national team following the axing of Stephen Keshi for breach of contract.
Tomorrow, Saturday, the ex Nigeria skipper will come under scrutiny from the fans and other stakeholders when the Super Eagles take on The Taifa Stars in an African Cup of Nations qualifier.
When he was put on the spot, the Super Eagles coach suggested that he was not under pressure from his employers to secure the maximum points but admitted that the players are aware they need to get a win.
“Am I under pressure? Pressure is relative. We want to go into the match and win, not that anyone is putting a sword at the back of our necks,” said Sunday Oliseh to thenff.com.
“We are here for business. We don’t want to know what others are doing; we are only interested in what we are doing. Of course, every team goes into a match to try and win.
“The three points are very crucial to us on Saturday. That is the only message ringing in the ears of the players.”
The Nigerian national team have never lost to Tanzania in six previous meetings.
