Published: September 06, 2015
Warri Wolves defender Solomon Kwambe was the only home - based player considered for the starting line - up in Saturday’s goalless draw against Tanzania after Mainz stopper Leon Balogun failed a fitness test before the game in Dar es Salaam.
With Egypt thrashing Chad 5 - 1 at Stade Omnisports Idriss Mahamat Ouya on Sunday, the Super Eagles are already playing catch - up on the North Africans after only two rounds in Group G of African Cup of Nations qualifying.
“Our target was to win the game and have the three maximum points but it was unfortunate we got a draw, so we still give God the glory, ” Solomon Kwambe told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“Secondly, nothing is impossible with God, if we are to top the group we will.”
